Brave The Shave

Huge congratulations to Thomas Siron – AP’s IT Infrastructure Technician – for taking part in Macmillians ‘Brave the Shave’. Tom’s efforts raised £472.50, smashing his target of £300! “The majority of us will all know someone who has been affected by cancer, whether it be family or friends and those who have seen its devastating effects first hand, would hope for nothing better than to see it eradicated from the world completely. Over the years, Macmillan nurses have provided such a valuable service to my Grandparents whom both suffered from cancer. The support that they provide is priceless and I’d hate to think that the service they provide would stop if they didn’t get the funding that they need.
This is why I took part in ‘Brave the Shave’ in August, to help fundraise for Macmillan, so that they can afford to keep as many Nurses as they can. So that if someone needs them, they are there.”
Well done Tom!

Walk All Over Cancer

Michelle Phillips from Sales Support proudly took part in the ‘Walk All Over Cancer’ challenge for Cancer Research during the month of September. This is her story:

‘Everyday this month I will be walking a minimum of 10,000 steps a day (approximately 5 miles). If anyone here doesn’t know, I broke my foot badly last year, breaking 7 bones, detaching a ligament and required 2 reconstructive surgeries, 3 screws, 2 months of learning to walk again and 7 months off work (I also damaged my knee and hip and now my other foot has joined in just for fun with a different ligament issue). At the same time as I was housebound, my mother-in-law and her brother were diagnosed with cancer. They are both with us still, and I want to help out now because I physically couldn’t at the time.’

Best of luck hitting your target Michelle!
